WedPics Featured Couple: Tara & Philip

First, congrats on getting married and thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us!  If you could choose just one, what was your favorite moment from the wedding weekend?

How do you pick just one?! The entire experience was fantastic. We knew when we started planning the wedding that we did not want a huge guest list, and we ended up having about 40 guests. Being able to spend quality time with each of our guests was really special and made for many favorite moments. One of my favorite moments
particularly was when everyone let loose on the dance floor (especially Philip) and the party really got started!

What kind of personal touches did you add to your wedding?

I feel like our whole wedding was just “us.” We were engaged in Charleston, South Carolina, and the restaurant we got engaged at (Peninsula Grill) is famous for their amazing coconut cake. We were able to get that cake shipped in for our wedding cake, and it was awesome. Also, the venue we chose was reflective of our love of history and old culture–it was on the private estate of a family that was influential in our hometown of Winston-Salem back in the early 1900s. Another personal touch was our signature cocktail, a Southern Hospitali”tea” which was sweet tea vodka and freshly squeezed lemonade. Since I am originally from Ohio and Philip is a true Southern boy, we tried to find ways to merge the two cultures.

If you could give one piece advice for future brides and grooms planning their wedding, what would that be?

Do what makes you happy! And don’t forget the real reason for it all–at the end of the day your wedding is one day of your life, but the marriage is what matters. It’s easy to get caught up in the little details and wanting everything to be perfect. Sometimes you have to let go and just enjoy the moment. Also, I would highly recommend having a wedding-day coordinator so you don’t have to worry about everything coming together on the day of your wedding. I guess that’s more than one piece of advice–sorry!

We’re thrilled you chose to use WedPics for your wedding.  Tell us a little bit about why you chose to use Wedpics and how did it work out for you?

I learned about WedPics on Facebook. After researching it a bit I realized that a friend on FB had used a similar app at her wedding, and it seemed like a great idea. I honestly wasn’t sure how successful it would be, but after looking at all the pictures I am so glad we used it. It’s great to see the day through the eyes of your guests; they were able to capture some special moments! Using WedPics is easy, and I was especially happy with how easy it was to send picture to my social media sites.

Thank you Tara & Philip!  Best of luck in this new chapter of your lives!
