1) If you could choose just one, what was your favorite moment from the wedding weekend?

It’s definitely hard to pick just one moment but I would have to say that my favorite one was when I saw my groom at the end of the aisle.  I was extremely nervous as the time quickly approached for the ceremony to begin but as soon as I stepped outside and saw my husband-to-be I felt this comforting sense of calm.  I will never forget the way I felt when I saw him.

2) What kind of personal touches did you add to your wedding?

It was really important to my husband and I to have a personable wedding.  We wanted our guests to get a sense of who we are.  My husband is Italian and we wanted to incorporate some of his heritage into the wedding.  His sister made our wedding cake using his grandmother’s recipe for traditional Italian cream cake.  Italian cookies are a huge tradition at the weddings in his family so instead of doing a receiving line we walked around from table to table after dinner with a tray of homemade cookies as we greeted our guests. He loves candy so we opted for a candy buffet as the favor.  I love wine so I found ways to incorporate it into the décor.  I had a wine cork guest book, wine bottle centerpieces, wine cork escort cards, and we chose the wine box unity during our ceremony (we even were able to find a bottle of wine from the region of Italy that his family is from).   My husband loves cigars so we created a “cigar bar” on an old wine barrel.  It was a huge hit among the guys who weren’t into dancing! I created a customized program that listed fun facts about my husband and I including how we met, some of our favorite things, and how he popped the question.  The stem of my bouquet was wrapped with lace from my mother’s wedding dress from 1977.  I also had a charm of my parents from their wedding day attached to my bouquet. My husband carried a charm in his pocket with the message “Love You” engraved in his late grandmother’s handwriting.  Needless to say our wedding was full of personal touches!

3) Did you use WedPics for your wedding?  If so,  tell us a little bit about why you chose to use Wedpics and how did it work out for you?

Yes, we used WedPics and couldn’t be happier!!  When we started planning the wedding I knew that I wanted to use an app in lieu of disposable cameras.  I did quite a bit of research as there are several apps out there.  I have to say that WedPics was definitely the most appealing.  I absolutely loved that you could use the app for all the events associated with the wedding; bridal shower, bachelorette, rehearsal dinner, etc.  It’s also great that it’s set up in a way that you can love and comment on other people’s photos.  Plus you can’t beat that it’s free!  We printed information for the app on our program so guests could download it while they waited for the ceremony to start. I can’t tell you how exciting it was after the wedding to receive notifications that people had added pictures to my WedPics albums!  We loved seeing pictures from different points of view.  I would highly recommend WedPics to all engaged couples!

4) If you could give one piece advice for future brides and grooms planning their wedding, what would that be?

Try not to stress.  That is definitely easier said than done but at the end of the day no matter what little things went wrong the fact that you are married to your best friend mean that everything went just right.

Congrats Kelly & Dominic!  If you were recently married and would like to be featured on our blog, email us at!
