Today's romantic desert engagement session is not only stunning, it also has an incredibly special place in the Wedding Party family's heart! The groom, Sahil, is the brother of one of our co-founders. Him and his beautiful fiancée Veena are getting married this fall at the Parker in Palm Springs (yup, you know it's going to be amazing) — and while we're excited for their wedding, it's hard to get our minds off of their beautiful engagement photos!
Shot in the desert just outside of Palm Springs, their engagement photos are stylish and totally unique. From the first pop of the champagne cork to the epic shots at the wind farm (you'll see what we mean), every single moment is magical! Plus, color us obsessed with Veena's dress choices. Just saying.

Where the inspiration/idea for the session came from:
I'm a desert baby, born and raised, and throughout our relationship Sahil has fallen more in love with the eclectic nature of Palm Springs -- we decided we wanted to have fun and play in the desert. From there Jolene (our planner) and Heather Kincaid (our photographer) collaborated with us to achieve what we envisioned. From the flower crown to the colors of our clothing -- they helped us bring our vision to life.

Advice for those who don't plan to do an engagement shoot:We initially didn't want to do an engagement shoot at all, but our godsend of a planner (Jolene of Laurel & Rose) encouraged us to do one to get to know our photographer a bit better and become more comfortable having our pictures taken before the big day.
Where it was located:We chose to do our engagement shoot in Palm Springs, since we'll be getting married there later this fall! We knew we wanted a natural desert backdrop with a bit of architectural interest, and felt that the Indian Canyons and the Windmill farm fit the bill.
Our favorite part of the shoot:Our "magic carpet" moments -- the windmill farm was mighty windy, and it was fun playing that up! Also popping the champagne wasn't too shabby either. Honestly, just having fun with each other!
Advice to couples planning their engagement shoot now:Collaborate with your photographer and planner (if you have one) -- they can really help you bring your vision to life!
